Brun-waw Ner (/brun/ /waw/ [contact] [eagle]) is a subtropical Town located in the Evrezdre̜t Moot of the Viceroyalty of Rosid.

The name Brun-waw Ner is derived from the Wood Elvish language, as Brun-waw Ner was founded by Bril Wudush, who was culturaly Wood Elven.

Climate

Brun-waw Ner has a yearly average temperature of 14°C (57°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 28°C (82°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a freezing 0°C (32°F). Brun-waw Ner receives an average of 152 cm/y (59 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of snow during the pleasantly short winter months. Brun-waw Ner covers an area of nearly 5 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 3016 m (9895 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Brun-waw Ner was founded durring the late 16th century in fall of the year 1477, by Bril Wudush. The establishment of Brun-waw Ner suffered from several major issues, resulting in the need to develop many solutions to basic problems. Problems such as a lack of fresh water, logistical support, poor quality tools, and the odd monster or two. Howeaver, these were overcome in time.

Brun-waw Ner was built using the conventions of Wood Elven durring the late 16th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Brun-waw Ner is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature plaster covered brickwork used to form structures with an emphasis on symmetry, proportion, geometry and the regularity of parts. Orderly arrangements of columns, pilasters and lintels, as well as the use of semicircular arches, hemispherical domes, niches and aediculae can be found everywhere such that only size of building and yard can be used to measure the general prosparity of a given building's owners due to a general wealthy feeling the style gives off.

Brun-waw Ner is buildings are arranged within a network of narrow cobblestone streets which form a rectangular grid, where each block verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller block has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town posesses a fortified albit thin wall of querried stone. This wall posesses most of the features of a castle wall, though it is constructed from cheeper inferior stone. It would pose a minor chalange for an attacking army, though it's clear the wall's true purpose is to crush the hopes of bandits and marauders. The town's failry decent fortifications are visibly old, but also obviously maintained semi-regularly. Its likly the local malishia or garrison are tasked with ocasional mantance of the towns defences.

A look around Brun-waw Ner makes you worry someone might stab you in a dark ally for your boots. It’s not filthy, or dark, but the smiles seem strained, the locals seem to glare daggers in eachothers backs a little too much, and everyone is armed at all times. Brun-waw Ner has a first rate hospital which caters to anyone in need of long term medical care.

Brun-waw Ner has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.

Brun-waw Ner has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Brun-waw Ner has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

Brun-waw Ner's town hall was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by dynamic designs and complex architectural plan forms; intended to heighten feelings of motion and sensuality, and frequently based on the oval. It made extensive and extreme use of: Grandeur, Contrast, Curves and twists, Rich surface treatments, Gilded statuary, Bright colors, Vividly painted ceilings, Fragmented or deliberately incomplete elements, Large-scale frescoes, Dramatic central projections on an external facade, the use of plaster, stucco, or marble finishing, Illusory effects such as trompe l’oeil, and pear-shaped domes. While beloved by the nobility, the common folk tended to despise the style due to the massive consumption of resources required for even a small building constructed in this style.

In Brun-waw Ner all of the cats speak the local language with prefect diction.

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century, Brun-waw Ner was attacked by soldiers from another nation, waging a greater campaign. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Brun-waw Ner lost 176 people, 187 livestock, and 77 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 70, when members of Brun-waw Ner's militia enacted an operation to locate a specific expert. The operation was complicated by aggravated civilians, who cause problems for the militia for a host of reasons. The conflict ended with pitched battle between both forces, which ended in a stalemate for Brun-waw Ner's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Brun-waw Ner's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
